Our Approach

A coaching approach built for real leadership, not theory.

The approach combines coaching principles, leadership assessment, behavioural insight and performance psychology with practical experience of senior talent and leadership work across EMEA.

My approach draws on established coaching principles, leadership assessment, behavioural insight and performance psychology, adapted to the real demands of executive life.

I'm a certified executive coach through the Academy of Executive Coaching (AOEC). Alongside that formal training, I bring more than 25 years' practical experience from senior talent and leadership work across EMEA, including executive search, executive hiring, succession, leadership assessment, leadership transitions, internal mobility and organisational change.

The work is not about applying a rigid model. It is about helping you understand your context more clearly, make better choices, and develop leadership habits that hold up under pressure.

Core Principles

What guides every engagement.

01

Start with reality, not a framework

We begin with your actual leadership context: what is changing, what is expected of you, where you need more impact, what feels unclear or stretched, and what would make the biggest difference now. Frameworks can be useful, but only when they serve the conversation.

02

Increase potential, reduce interference

Performance = Potential − Interference. We look at the potential that can be strengthened — judgement, confidence, communication, influence, resilience — and the interference that may be getting in the way: self-doubt, overthinking, avoidance, unclear priorities, or patterns that once helped you succeed but may now be limiting your impact.

03

Use assessment carefully and practically

Assessment tools can create useful insight, but they should never become labels. Where appropriate, coaching may draw on tools such as Hogan, FIRO, DISC, Predictive Index, Emotional Intelligence (EI) profiling, 360 feedback or other behavioural insight — always as a starting point for better reflection, choices and action, never as the answer itself.

04

Challenge and support in equal measure

Good coaching should feel safe enough to be honest and challenging enough to be useful. You should leave sessions with more clarity, not just more comfort — the relationship is supportive, but it is also purposeful. The goal is progress.

05

Make the work sustainable

High performance is not just about intensity. Many leaders can push hard for a period of time — the real question is whether they can perform well consistently, without exhausting themselves or losing perspective. The coaching pays attention to resilience, recovery, confidence and the habits that support performance that can last.

Coaching Process

What to expect.

01

Discovery Call

A confidential conversation to understand your goals, context and what you want coaching to support.

02

Contracting & Focus

We agree what success looks like, how we will work together, and what the coaching should help you shift.

03

Insight & Awareness

We explore your context, patterns, strengths, development edges and any interference affecting performance.

04

Action & Experimentation

You test new behaviours, conversations, habits or decisions between sessions, then reflect on what works.

05

Review & Integration

We track progress, refine the focus, and make sure the learning translates into lasting leadership impact.

Between Sessions

The Companion

Coaching works best when reflection doesn't stop the moment a session ends. Active clients have access to a private, guided reflection space — built around the same Performance = Potential − Interference framework — for preparing before a session, thinking through a decision, or journaling between conversations.

It's a space to think, not a replacement for the coaching itself. Anything substantial that surfaces there is brought back into your next session with Ben.
